Weekend Racing at West Oxfordshire SC

Wanderer and Wayfarer Racing at West Oxfordshire Sailing Club Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th 2025   The club is located 6 miles from Witney on the B4449.  By comparison to others our lake is smaller which makes for some interesting racing around the marks.  WOSC is a recognised RYA Training Centre.  There are ample slipways and plenty of parking for visitor cars and boats.  There is 24 hour access to the club and the clubhouse which is fully equipped with a kitchen, bar and changing rooms, toilets etc.  Visitors can bring campervans, caravans or camp on the ample grass area from Friday 4th allowing plenty of time for those who wish to rig the night before through to Sunday 6th.  For those that want greater comfort there is a Premier Inn and Travelodge in Witney and of course B&B’s/Airbnb in the local area.   Information on access, maps

Try-A-Wanderer 2023

Join us at Marlow Sailing Club hosted by John and Jenny Renouf to have a go sailing a Wanderer on the Thames. This is the ideal opportunity for non- members to either meet the association or try sailing a Wanderer. Marlow SC is probably the most relaxed in the country on the grassy banks of the Thames, just upstream from Bisham Abbey. Launching and recovery is a doddle, perfect for beginners and experienced crews. There is no fixed agenda….. we tinker with our boats and exchange tips and then have some fun sailing which starts when someone shouts “Go”. More details from John Renouf – 1953jgr@gmail.com
