The regatta will be governed by current rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2021 to 2024. 1.2. Prescriptions of the RYA, the Wanderer Class Owners’ Association (WCOA) Class Rules, and West Oxfordshire Sailing Club’s Sailing Instructions 1.3. Racing Rules 27.1 and 40 will be changed to the effect that buoyancy aids are required. 1.4 The changes will appear in full in the Sailing Instructions. Competitors should note that West Oxfordshire Sailing Club implements the RYA Racing Charter. Competitors will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book and at the point of event entry. 2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 2.1. The 2022 season finally kicks off next month with a two-day racing event hosted by West Oxfordshire SC over the weekend after Easter….April 23/24. Wanderer – Wayfarer Racing Weekend 22 The venue is just south of Witney and with reasonably convenient access the A34, A420, and further away, the M40 and the M4. Motorhomes and caravans can be conveniently sited at the club. I have previously circulated a Notice of Race and it is again attached to the link above. WHAT I REALLY NEED TO NOW IS…….. It helps our hosts to make appropriate plans, and I need to know how many of you will be coming to the Wanderer Fleet supper at The Blue Boar at Longworth on the Saturday evening. September 17-18 for the chance to be crowned National Champion will be raced on Bewl Water this year.
June 25 / 26 – Race for the Gavin Barr Trophy in Whitstable. Hosted by the YC on the tidal waters of the Thames Estuary.
This is the first Championship race of the season, held at Cotswold Sailing Club.
