The Wanderer, like any dinghy, can capsize but in my experience it is more stable than similar size boats from RS or Laser. All dinghy sailors need to learn how to recover a capsized boat and be prepared for this happening. E.G. by wearing clothing suitable for the conditions. It’s also important to know your limits. Some will sail happily in a force 6, due the their experience, while others may struggle in a force 4. Check the forecast before going afloat, learn to use the tiller extension, if not already doing so, so you can easily hike out. Add more kicker, outhaul and cunningham as the wind increases, to flatten the sail which reduces the lift. Head up in the gusts and reef early before getting overpowered.
