Inaugural Scottish Open Championship and Cruising Event 8th-10th August 2025
This will be the first ever Wanderer race event to be organised in Scotland and at Edinburgh on tidal waters, thanks to Leonie Griffin at her home club. It will be well worth making the trip for anyone coming north of the border for cruising on the first day and two days of racing in the club’s open regatta. The dates coincide with the Edinburgh Festival for any members interested in enjoying the cultural as well as sailing fun.
Accommodation
There are many options available
Clubhouse – there is shared space in the hall for those wishing to sleep overnight in a communal setting. This would involve tidying away bed rolls etc during the day. There are limited kitchen facilities -kettle, microwave, hob, oven, small fridge and freezer, crockery/cutlery etc
Campervans – There is space for several motorhomes next to the clubhouse. There is not an electric hook up officially but there are sockets in the clubhouse for charging phones. The closest official caravan/camper site is a Caravan and Motorhome Club – Edinburgh Club Campsite, 35-37 Marine Drive, Edinburgh, Edinburgh, EH4 5EN, Scotland
Tents – There are no tent spaces at the clubhouse but there are several local sites and may be a members garden available.
