The event will be at Whitstable Yacht Club, 3-4 Sea Wall, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 1BX, Tel: 01227 272942, email office@wyc.org.uk. The organising authority is Whitstable Yacht Club (WYC) in conjunction with the Wanderer Class Owners Association (WCOA).
Racing will be governed by the 2021-2024 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS); the prescriptions of the RYA, the Wanderer Class Owners’ Association rules, and the WYC Sailing Instructions for the event. The WYC Sailing Instructions can be found on the WYC website.
The following amendments shall be made to the WYC Sailing Instructions for the purpose of this event:
2.2. The Wanderer entry fee will be £30 per boat. (The fee is paid by WCOA for a boat sailed by a helm or crew who is a current WCOA member.)

Participants should also note rule 13.1: Starting Intervals of 3-minute intervals shall be used.
There will be 4 races. 3 races for the series alongside WYC club racing and one (non-series) fun race.
Saturday 29th June. HW is at 19.07. 2 back-to-back races are scheduled. Wanderer class races will take place alongside WYC club racing. 1st Race 14.57.
10.30 Registration opens. All participants shall register with WYC.
13.00 Briefing.
14.51 The warning signal for the first race on Saturday will not be before this time.
Sunday 30th September. HW is at 08.03. 2 races are scheduled.
1st (Fun) Race 10.15: Le Mans Start from the beach; Finish on passing the Committee Boat wherever anchored for the start of the club race and to finish no later than 10.50.
2nd race, Start 10.57 alongside WYC club racing.
If the number of races is curtailed (e.g. due to sea conditions) the event One race alongside club racing shall be completed to constitute a series. The “Low Points” Scoring system of Appendix A of the RRS will apply. When two races are completed 2 will count. When three races are completed 3 will count. The fun race does not count in the series.
The racing event is designated RRS Category A.

The entry fee of £30 per boat is payable to Whitstable Yacht Club. Entry fees are paid by the Wanderer Class Owners Association for any boat sailed by a current WCOA member.
Entries may also be taken on the day at Registration. As well as registering, for safety reasons entrants shall also complete the Declaration (signing on) sheet by the course board before going afloat, and shall sign in on coming ashore.
Courses will be set in Whitstable Bay. Competitors should allow sufficient time to sail out to the start.

On Saturday 29th June there will be an evening supper on the club veranda (19.00 – 21.00). Suppers also need to be booked in advance by the club’s online booking system to know numbers in advance. https://bookwhen.com/wycsailevents. Meal choices and payment are to be made on Saturday morning at registration. The supper is open to event helpers and friends as well as to race sailors.
The Gavin Barr trophy, runner up trophy, 1st non spinnaker boat prize, Start as You Mean to Go On trophy, fun race prize and other prizes will be awarded according to the number of entries, at the discretion of the Race Committee.
