This is now our regular opening event for the season shared with the Wayfarer COA. This is a remarkably friendly and cooperative club which manages racing quietly and efficiently from the onshore race-box.
This event takes place the weekend after Easter (April 23 and 24) at West Oxfordshire SC (WOSC…… OX29 5AD), which is just south of Witney, west of Oxford city, and close to the M40, M4, A34, and A420. There will be five short 60 minute races, three on the Saturday and two on the Sunday. The first race on the Saturday starts at 12 noon. And early start on the Sunday (10.30am) means that racing will be over in time for lunch in the clubhouse enabling are reasonably early start to the journey home.
Access to the lake is very easy, and motorhomes and caravans are welcome on site. The £30 entry fee per boat is paid by WOSC provided your 2022 membership subscription has been paid. On the Saturday evening at 7.00pm we will have a traditional and filling Wanderer Fleet Supper for crews, families, and friends at the Blue Boar In at Longworth. The breakfast bacon sarnies at WOSC are splendid.
Even including those who have informed that they are coming, will you please complete the online registration facility which WOSC has now provided. It helps enormously with catering.
Please also let me know if you want a seat at the Blue Boar Fleet Supper. Already I know we have boats and crews coming from Cornwall, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Yorkshire, as well as those within 60 minutes travelling time.
