Another chance to explore the wonderful River Fal and surrounding area.
The base for daily cruises will be Percuil Boatyard on the Roseland peninsula, close to the picturesque Cornish village of Portscatho.
We will be sailing in the Carrick Roads: this is a beautiful area for sailing. Let's hope we have good weather, but the advantage of the Carrick Roads is having reasonably sheltered waters even if the weather is bad. With good weather, we will offer longer day cruises, for example to the Helford.
We are planning to organise an initial get together on the Monday (12th June) evening and then cruises, depending on the weather, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Evening entertainment will be arranged.
For those wanting to camp, motorhome etc. Trewince Farm offers excellent facilities (with hook ups). Be cairful when booking as there are two Trewince campsites in Cornwall! This Trewince Farm is the one near Portscatho)
Next door to the campsite you can rent comfortable holiday lodges for up to six people. Trewince Holiday Lodges provide self-catering accommodation of a very high standard. Both of these facilities are just over a mile from the boatyard.
A word of warning. The lodges get booked up well in advance, so don't delay with your booking. Ring 01872 580289 to make your reservation.
As always, the West Country cruise will aim to offer as good a time on the water, as off it. If the weather is unkind, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Mawes Castle, the Falmouth Maritime Museum and plenty of other attractions to enjoy.
More information to follow, but let me know if you need others to share a lodge or have any questions.
All the best,
P.S. Drop me a mail on firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know if you're coming.
The boatyard at Percuil have plenty of places available for moorings and in the boatpark, although they would like us to give a more accurate idea of numbers if possible before Easter.
